 PARTNER PROJECTS:
While the main goal of Fair Trade is to allow the small farmer to earn a living wage for his/her labors,
the coffee business, like any agriculture based effort, is unpredictable.
Since Friends of the Third World is primarily a charity, not a commerical business, we have chosen
to set 10% of each purchase of coffee into a critical project fund.  At no cost to you, we will
make a contribution to projects supporting self-reliance.
Members may allow us  to determine the need, or may choose from a list of projects or organizations.
For example, a religious congregation may choose to earmark a donation to their specific mission or
denominational relief fund.  Once you designate a preference we will keep it on file.  You may change
your preference at any time.  First time recipient groups will be asked to provide us with proof of tax
exempt status and funding usage.  Friends of the Third World's annual financial report is available
at www.guidestar.org. (Those purchasing at distributor pricing aren't also eligible for 10% grants.)
